The Abbrescia family has been in the Montana & Glacier National Park art scene since 1976 when Joe & Sue Abbrescia moved to Kalispell from the Chicago area.  Joseph L. Abbrescia (October 1, 1936 - February 17, 2005) was an American painter of the American West. By 2002, he had become "one of the country's most accomplished plein-air artists.

Today, The Abbrescia Art Gallery and Fine Art Restoration Studio, located in the Sykes Complex, is the home to Joe Abbrescia Jr.'s art restoration studio for over a decade. Joe Jr. specializes in oil painting conservation, fine art appraisals, art consultation, and condition reports.
